* Wednesday's meeting with MSU Billings will mark the 19th encounter between the two sister schools dating back to the 1976-77 season. Last year, the Yellowjackets knocked off the Bobcats 57-54 (game was an exhibition for MSUB) in Bozeman to snap an eight game losing streak, which began on Nov. 18, 1983.
* Montana State dropped a 72-62 decision to the University of Wyoming in Laramie on Friday night. The Bobcats had two players in double-figure scoring led by Jackie Elliott 11 and Ausha Cole 10. Kalli Durham paced MSU under the glass with ten rebounds, while Jasmine Hommes swatted a team-best three blocks.
* Wednesday will mark the first of two games the Bobcats will play this week within the friendly confines of Worthington Arena. MSU will host Denver on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Pioneers will host UC Irvine on Thursday, before making the trek to Bozeman. Denver is currently 1-2 overall.
* The new contact rules have shown an interesting stat early in the season. In MSU's win over Cal State Northridge in Worthington Arena, the Bobcats held a 29-13 advantage in free throw attempts. In its loss at Wyoming in the Arena Auditorium on Friday, the Cowgirls held a commanding 38-17 margin in charity tosses. To date, the Bobcats are shooting a respectable 78 percent from the line.
* The Montana State women's basketball team is getting balanced scoring in the early go as four Bobcat players average double-figures. The four are Kalli Durham 13.0, Jasmine Hommes 10.5, Ashley Brumwell 10.5 and Jackie Elliott 10.0.
* After opening the season shooting 35 percent from three-point range in its win over Cal State Northridge, the Bobcats shot an icy 6.3 percent at Wyoming, connecting on just one-of-16 attempts with the one make belonging to Jackie Elliott.
* Kalli Durham did a nice job cleaning up the garbage at Wyoming. The 5-7 guard crashed the boards for a team-high 10 rebounds.
* Durham and Ashley Brumwell are lading the Bobcats from the charity stripe. The duo is a perfect 18-of-18 from the line, each going nine-of-nine to date. Others not missing from the line this fall include Jackie Elliott (2-2) and Lindsay Stockton (4-4).
* MSU has had 46 fouls called on them in two games, averaging 23.0 per outing.
* The Bobcats have made just 21 turnovers.
* In their home-opener last week, the Yellowjackets won their game against regional opponent Chadron State 59-55. MSUB shot 37.7 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from three-point range. Bobbi Knudsen had 23 points, four assists, and four rebounds in the game. Montana State transfer Chelsea Banis had 10 points and seven rebounds in the contest. Janiel Olson was 2-2 in the game with five points and a team-high nine rebounds.
* MSUB experienced success in 2012, going 17-10 overall, and finishing third in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference at 11-7. The Yellowjackets also did a great job of protecting their home turf with an 11-2 slate, which included a 78-64 win over the University of Alaska Anchorage (1/10/13), ending a five-year 10 game drought.
* The Yellowjackets return nine letterwinners from last season. MSUB has made seven postseason appearances in the last ten years. Senior Bobbi Knudsen (Malta) was a NCAA Division II All-American, last winter.

Senior Ashley Brumwell has a lot on her plate. In addition to her playing gig, the 5th-year senior is also student-teaching at Bozeman High in the math department.
