The Montana State volleyball team will take its final road trip of the season when it travels to Southern Utah and Northern Arizona this weekend.

THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD:
The Montana State volleyball team will take its final road trip of the season when it travels to Southern Utah and Northern Arizona this weekend. The Bobcats will open play this week in Cedar City against Southern Utah on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. MSU defeated the Thunderbirds 3-1 on Oct. 12. Montana State will complete its weekend in Flagstaff at Northern Arizona, Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., in the Rolle Activity Center. The Bobcats upset the Lumberjacks 3-2 in Shroyer Gym on Oct. 11.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:
Montana State outside hitter Kennadie Clute is not only establishing herself as one of the top freshman in the Big Sky this fall, but she is also one of the best in the nation. The Bobcat rookie ranks first in the country for freshmen, averaging 4.45 kills per set, which ranks 19th overall at the NCAA Division I level. The Spokane native is first in the nation for freshmen in points per game, as well, at 4.89 per set, which is 23rd overall.
'CAT CHAT:
Montana State will be playing two teams that it defeated earlier this season. MSU down Southern Utah 25-21, 20-25, 30-28, 26-24 behind 18 kills by Kennadie Clute and Loni Kreun...in MSU's upset of Northern Arizona the same weekend (25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 15-13) the Bobcats were led against by Clute, who posted a team and Big Sky Conference high 31 kills...senior Nicole Baker is first the Big Sky averaging .36 aces per game, the number ranks 70th in the nation...freshman Anna Sykora is fifth in the league averaging 10.47 assists per set, which ranks 76th in the country.
SCOUTING THE THUNDERBIRDS/LUMBERJACKS:
Southern Utah is currently sitting at the bottom of the Big Sky Conference with a 3-24 overall mark and a 2-14 league ledger. The Thunderbirds two Big Sky victories came against Northern Arizona and Weber State. SUU is paced by Kylie Schofield, who averaged 2.85 kills per set. Northern Arizona will face Montana on Thursday night, before facing the Bobcats. The Lumberjacks sit in third place with a 17-8 overall mark and an 11-5 conference slate.
FAB FROSH, PART I:
Kennadie Clute, a 6-1 outside hitter from Spokane, continues to be Montana State's top offensive threat, racking up a Big Sky best 499 points in the first 27 matches. In addition, Clute has been in double-figure kills in all 27 matches. She is ranked first in the league averaging 4.45 kills per set and her 31 kills against Northern Arizona is the top mark in the Big Sky, as well.
GOOD GODFREY:
Sophomore Natalee Godfrey has put together a solid season for the Bobcats to date hitting a team-best .283 from the field, while averaging 1.91 kills and .77 blocks per set. Last weekend, she averaged 2.00 kills per set.
FAB FROSH, PART II:
Freshman Anna Sykora continued her hot-hand. The 5-11 setter from Rapid City, SD, dished out 90 assists last weekend and is averaging 10.47 assists per set (overall), which ranks fifth overall in the Big Sky listings.
THE BUTCHER, THE BAKER, THE DIG-MAKER:
Senior libero Nicole Baker is moving up the all-time MSU digs chart. She is currently third all-time with 1,495 saves. Her current 3.58 dps is eighth best in the league, while her .36 aces give her the top spot in the Big Sky listings.
FAB FROSH, PART III:
Freshman outside hitter Loni Kreun is averaging 2.85 kills per set. Kreun is second on the team with 323.5 points. In addition, she is second on the squad, averaging 2.20 digs per contest and has totaled 31 blocks.
E-LECTRFYING:
After a slow start to the season, sophomore outside hitter Eli Svisco is finding her groove. Svisco pounded down 13 kills last weekend, including nine kills against Weber State. Against the Wildcats, she also had a .438 htg%.
