Bobcat Golf Gears Up For Final Fall Tournament

Cowgirl Desert Invitational marks final outing of 2013
Montana State Golf has seen highs and lows over the course of the fall season and they're ready to finish on a high note at the Cowboy Desert Invitational in Palm Desert, Calif. on Saturday, Oct. 12. The tournament, hosted by Wyoming, will take place the Classic Club, a 6,112 yard, Par 72 course.
Montana State will face off with 19 other teams, including tournament host Wyoming, Cal Poly, CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Hawai'i, Montana, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Seattle, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, Rollins, Weber State and Western Carolina.
The Bobcats will also get a good dose of Big Sky Conference play with seven of the 11 programs on the course at the Classic Club.
Head coach Brittany Basye is confident in her quintet of golfers and has high expectations as they embark in their final fall competition. Paige Crawford, who has been the team's top finisher in every tournament this fall, will be joined by true freshman Janelle Reali, Kati Greear, Lauren Hausauer and Pamela Calderon-Rojas.
"A big plus is that four of our players have been on this course before," said Basye. "We know how this course plays with the greens and even the wind. This is our last competition this fall and we'd really like to close it out on a positive note. We've been practicing and things are starting pay off."
Day one will feature two rounds of 18 holes on Saturday, followed by a final round on Sunday. Both days are slated for a 7:30 a.m. (PDT) start.
