Montana State senior Rachel Semansky connected on a school-record matching 12-of-12 from the free throw line, recording a game-high 22 points to pace the Bobcats to an 81-74 win over Portland State, Thursday night in the Stott Center.

Former MSU All America honorable mention Cass Bauer converted 12-of-12 from the charity stripe on Jan. 8, 1993 at the University of Portland.

In all, four Bobcats hit double-digits paced by Semansky and followed by Latisha Adams with a career-high 19 points, Kalli Durham 16 and Ashley Brumwell 14. Durham, who missed MSU's last four games with a leg injury, went five-of-13 from the floor and pulled down seven rebounds for the Bobcats.

“It was great to have Kalli back,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We had a complete team effort. I thought Tish (Adams) and Rechel (Carter) really set the tone for us from the point-guard spot.

“It got a little scary down the stretch, but I'm proud of the team for finding a way to get it done,” Binford said.

Montana State (8-4, 2-1) held a 33-28 advantage at intermission.

With 8:15 remaining in the game, Adams hit a short jumper to give the Bobcats its biggest lead of the half at 60-49. Portland State went on a 25-15 run down the stretch and pulled to within 75-74 with 23-seconds left following a Courtney VanBrocklin triple. MSU finished off the game going six-of-six from the free throw line.

In the second stanza, the Bobcats shot 57 percent from the field and connected on 21-of-29 free throws. For the game, MSU went 31-of-39 from the line. For the contest, MSU shot 44 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line.

Portland State (7-5, 1-2) held a slim 39-38 advantage under the boards. MSU was led under the glass by Brumwell with eight rebounds.

“We established ourselves as the aggressor,” Binford said. “Last week, we didn't compete. I'm proud of the way we bounced back tonight. Any win on the road in Big Sky Conference play is a great pick-up.”

Montana State will play at Eastern Washington at 3 p.m. (MST) in Cheney, Wash.
