Slow Start for Bobcats in Pullman
After two rounds, Montana State sits in 14th place with 641 at Washington State's Cougar Cup. The two day event is being held at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash. (Day One Results | Team Results)
An opening round score of 76 by Freshmen Kati Greear was the best on the day for the Bobcats. With one more round to go, she is sitting in 46th place with an overall score of 156 (76-80).
Victoria Fallgren (74-70) of Gonzaga, Kristen Rue (71-73) of Wahington State, Raychelle Santos (71-73) of Gonzaga and Jaqueline Williams (72-72) of California are the first day leaders with a score of 144.
Molly Dorans is tied for 53rd and carded a second round score of 77 to put her at 158 overall (81-77). After finishing third at MSU's Bobcat Invite, Paige Crawford is in a tie for 62nd. She finished the day with 160 (81-79).
Rounding out the rest of the Bobcats is Lauren Hausauer with 167 (83-84) as she is tied for 79th and Haylee Folkvord who sits in 86th place with 174 (85-89).
"Tomorrow, I want to see some confident swings and putts dropping. We need to play smarter golf and trust the things we've been working on in practice," said coach Brittany Basye.
California has the lead after day one with a combined score of 581 (291-290).
The final day of the Cougar Cup begins tomorrow, Tuesday Sept. 25, with the first group teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
