Golf to Start Fall at Bobcat Invitational

Bobcats play at home for first time in two years
The Montana State Women's Golf team will begin the 2012-13 season this weekend hosting the Bobcat Invitational. The three day event is set to begin on Sunday at Riverside Country Club and features five schools, including four Big Sky Conference members.
In addition to Montana State, North Dakota, Southern Utah, Utah Valley and Montana will be participating in this weekend's event.
“A new season provides a fresh start and we're super excited, we have great veteran upperclassmen that will provide strong leadership” said head coach Brittany Basye.
All Bobcat team members will participate at Riverside which includes three seniors, two juniors and four freshmen. Plenty of experience returns from last year as Paige Crawford, Kelly O'Brien, Molly Dorans and Melissa Hultstrand all played at the conference level last year.
With all that experience there are also four freshmen that will get their first taste of collegiate competition. “I have full confidence we will come out strong but we also know it's a learning experience,” Basye added. “This team has competitors, hard workers and good golfers.”
Basye and her team believe it will be great to start the year at home. They are looking forward to the beginning of the season and hoping the community can come and support the program.
Each day begins at 8am for the Bobcats at the 6,299 yard, par 72 course. Results will be available at www.golfstat.com.
