Two tournaments slated for Bobcats in preparation for Big Sky Championship
Bobcat Women's Golf has reached the home stretch of the 2012 season. They head to Chandler, Ariz. for the Montana State Spring Invitational on April 7, and the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, April 9-11, at Ocotillo Golf Resort.
The next four rounds of golf will serve as a final test run before the Big Sky Championship, also taking place at Ocotillo, April 22-24.
MSU will be joined by Big Sky Conference members Idaho State, Northern Arizona and Weber State at the Montana State Spring Invitational, which will take place Saturday. Just one round of 18 holes will be played at the 6,184 yard, par 72 course.
The Wyoming Cowgirl Classic begins Monday, April 9, and will consist of 18 holes each day of the three-day invite. The Cowgirl Classic will feature 24 teams including Boise State, Colorado State, Creighton, Eastern Washington, Iowa, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Seattle, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, Utah Valley, UTEP, Weber State, Wichita State and Xavier.
Each day of the Cowgirl Classic will tee off at 6:30 a.m. MDT and live scoring will be available through www.golfstat.com.
The Bobcats will seven golfers. Paige Crawford, Molly Dorans, Melissa Hulstrand, Leslie McGetrick, Katie Michunovich and Chelsea Ray will compete for the Blue and Gold.
“This is a super warm-up for us before the Conference Championship,” said head coach Brittany Basye. “We get to play this course six times before and that will give us a chance to get familiar with it and add to our confidence levels. We've spent a lot of time preparing for this and these two tournaments should be a huge boost.”
