Bussey Earns All-Big Sky First Team Honors

Semansky joins Bussey as all-league choice, landing on second team
Katie Bussey spent her senior season terrorizing Big Sky Conference opponents. On Monday, the league's coaches honored her efforts by unanimously selecting her as First Team All-Big Sky.
Bussey finished second in the Big Sky in scoring at 17.4 points a game, and her spectacular 41-point outburst at Idaho State was the most scored in a game by a Big Sky player this season. In fact, three Big Sky teams scored fewer than 41 points in a game this year. Her six three-pointers against Portland State matched the second-most treys in a game this year.
The guard from Alamosa, Colo., was Second Team All-Big Sky in 2011. She has hit more three-pointers than any player in Big Sky history, and is second in Bobcat history in scoring.
Bussey was on the All-Big Sky squad by junior forward Rachel Semansky, who was named second team all-league. The Highwood product led the Big Sky in field goal percentage at 51.5%, and finished fourth with 8.8 rebounds and seventh with 13.9 points per game. She broke into MSU's career rebounding top 10 as a junior this season.
Montana State plays Montana at 7:30 pm Thursday in the first round of the 2012 Big Sky Conference Tournament in Pocatello, Idaho.
