Women's Golf to compete at Gonzaga Spring Invitational
After two weeks off from competition, the Montana State Women's Golf team takes to the course again at the Gonzaga Spring Individual at Liberty Lake Golf Course in Spokane, Wash. on Sunday, April 1. Liberty Lake boasts yardage of 6,607 at the par-70 course.
Normally competiting as a team with five Bobcat golfers, MSU will hit the links as individuals with eight players in attendance. Joining Montana State's usual suspects are Katie Michunovich, Chelsea Ray and Erin King in their 2012 debut. Paige Crawford, Molly Dorans, Melissa Hultstrand, Leslie McGetrick and Kelly O'Brien will continue to use the tournament to prepare for the Big Sky Championship in Ocotillo, Ariz., April 22-24.
"The weather conditions aren't terribly in any golfer's favor but we'll make the best of it," said head coach Brittany Basye. "We have just a few weeks left unti the conference tournament and everyone opportunity we have to play before then is another chance to play and get ready. It's great to get all these girls out there and give them a chance to play."
MSU will play a practice round on Saturday, March 31, followed by scored play on Sunday. The first round will begin around 9 a.m., with the second round slated for a 1 p.m. start.
