With Blount and Budinich back, Bobcats boast more weapons
With a couple more weapons in his arsenal, Montana State coach Brad Huse leads the Bobcat basketball team to Colorado Springs Wednesday for a matchup with red-hot Air Force.
The Bobcats welcome back forwards Xavier Blount and Jeff Budininch on Wednesday, when MSU and the Falcons meet in Clune Arena on the Air Force Academy campus. Tipoff is at 7 pm.
The high-flying Falcons, 4-0 on the season, out-score opponents by 23 points a game. It's hard to find a weak spot in AFA's offensive attack. Air Force shoots 50.7% from the floor, and 40.6% from three-point range. Michael Lyons, a 6-5 senior guard, leads the Falcons with 20.5 points per outing in an early-season stretch that includes wins over Army and The Citadel.
Montana State also features an explosive guard. Antonio Biglow scored 23 points to lead the Bobcats to a 19-point win over Portland of the WCC on Sunday, shooting 8-of-14 from the floor. Biglow teams with scrappy point guard Marcus Colbert to spark the Bobcats, while junior college transfer Paul Egwuonwu mans the middle. The Boise native averages six rebounds an outing.
After Wednesday's game at Air Force, Montana State visits Oregon State this weekend.
