Two Bobcats take honors for top-notch GPA
Two golfers earned recognition from the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) for their efforts in the classroom during the 2010-11 academic year. The student-athletes named All-American Scholars must meet the minimum requirement of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
Melissa Hulstrand, a business finance major, currently boasts a 3.66 cumulative grade point average. Hulstrand's top finish this spring was at the Morehead State Ocala Spring Invitational where she finished 29th after carding 168 (81-87).
Katie Michunovich completed the year with an impressive 3.95 cumulative grade point average, while majoring in business accounting. Her highest finish in 2011 was 25th at the Northern Illinois Snowbird Invitational when she carded 162 (81-81).
Both Hulstrand and Michunovich were named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic teams.
“Thisis always a wonderful accomplishment,” said Director of Athletics Peter Fields.
“When our student-athletes are recognized for their academic efforts, especially ones such as this, it is a great source of pride for Montana State.”
A total of 566 women's collegiate golfers from Division I, II and III earned the academic honors.
