The Montana State women’s basketball team used a 25-0 run in the second quarter to blow open the game and cruise to an 80-31 victory over the Costa Rica National Team, Saturday night in San Ramon.

Katie Bussey scored a game-high 24 points to lead four Bobcats in double-figures. Also hitting double-digits were Lyndi Seidensticker 18, Rachel Semansky 14 and Ausha Cole 12.
Montana State held a 12-8 advantage after the opening quarter, before putting down the damper on the defensive end and parlay it into a 29-2 run to take a 41-10 advantage at intermission.
“Ausha Cole did a fantastic job with her leadership at the point guard spot, and her defense was the key to our run,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “It is nice for the second straight game to have one of our younger kids step up. It's a great sign and confidence booster as we look to next season.”
Defensively, Cole a sophomore-to-be, notched six steals to go along with six assists.
Semansky paced the Bobcats under the boards with nine rebounds, while Bussey added 8 and Sarah Balian and Seidensticker with 7.
For the game, MSU shot 59 percent from the field.
The Bobcats will conclude play on Sunday against San Ramon.
