Bobcat Women Notch Victory in First Costa Rican Game

The Bobcat women's basketball team endure a 6.0 earthquake to post a 60-22 win in its first game of its Costa Rica foreign tour.
After a morning of zip-lining and enduring an afternoon 6.0 earthquake, the Montana State women's basketball squad shook off two months of dust, en route to a 60-22 win over Giocochea, a San Jose club team, in their first game on its Costa Rican tour.
Senior-to-be Katie Bussey paced the Bobcats with a game-high 19 points, including a pair of three-pointers from beyond the international arc. Also hitting double-digits were Latisha Adams 17, and Sarah Balian 10.
“Tish had a nice game,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We're going to ask her to have more scoring presence this season, and her performance was a nice step in that direction.”
MSU stormed out to a 35-11 lead at intermission and never looked back. The Bobcats held Giocochea to just four points in the opening quarter. The teams played four 10-minute quarters.
Other contributors for MSU included Rachel Semansky 5, Ausha Cole 4, Lyndi Seidensticker 3 and Kate Webb 2.
MSU will face the Costa Rica National Team on Saturday at 6 p.m., in San Ramon.
