Bobcat Women Ready for Big Sky Tourney

The Montana State women’s basketball team will make its 17th appearance in the Big Sky tournament, the second most in league history, Thursday when they face Eastern Washington in opening-round action.

The Montana State women's basketball team will make its 17th appearance in the Big Sky tournament, the second most in league history, Thursday when they face Eastern Washington in opening-round action. The Bobcats have also played in eight Big Sky championship games, including two of the last three seasons. Last March, MSU dropped a 62-58 decision to Portland State, after working themselves into the title game as the No. 6 seed. This weekend, the Bobcats enter as the No. 3 seed after finishing third in the league standings with an 11-5 mark. MSU is 17-13 overall. No. 4 Montana and No. 5 Idaho State also play on Thursday, with No. 1 Portland State and No. 2 Northern Colorado starting on Friday. Should the Bobcats get by Eastern Washington, they would face No. 2 Northern Colorado on Friday at 5:30 p.m. (MST). The championship game is slated for Saturday- televised live on the Altitude Sports and Entertainment Network- at 3 p.m. (MST).
