MSU netmen snag 4-3 win against league rival
Montana State's raised its men's tennis record to 2-0 in Big Sky play Sunday, topping Eastern Washington 4-3 in Cheney.
After dropping the doubles point, MSU's top three singles players won their matches to pull MSU close, then Prithiv Sivasubramanium won a three-set thriller decided by two tie-breaking wins to seal the victory.
The 4-3 win on Saturday came after Montana State dropped a 4-3 non-conference match at Gonzaga on Friday. The Bobcats also dropped the doubles point in Spokane, and won three of the six singles matches.
Junior Fletcher Keyes sparked the Bobcats last weekend, sweeping to a pair of wins in both singles and doubles competition. Keyes currently rides a four-match singles winning streak, and he and Pawel Turzanski own five straight doubles wins.
The Bobcats raised their overall record to 6-8 after the weekend action. Montana State's stretch of key conference matches continues this weekend with a Friday (4:00 pm) match against Sacramento State, followed by a non-league neutral-site matchup with Texas-Arlington on Saturday.
