Semansky’s Career-High Paces Bobcat Hoopsters to Win

– Montana State junior Rachel Semansky recorded a career-high 30 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as the Bobcats cruised to a 99-50 win over the College of Idaho, Sunday afternoon in Worthington Arena.

The native of Highwood connected on 12-of-17 from the field and converted six-of-eight free throws. In addition, she added four steals and a blocked shot.
In all, four Bobcats hit double-figures. Also contributing to the Bobcat attack were Kalli Durham 19, Katie Bussey 17 and Ashley Albert 16.
For the game, Montana State (3-1) shot 53 percent from the field, while holding the Lady 'Yotes to 28 percent.
“We were able to use a lot of different combinations and get our younger kids some experience,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “In the first half, we were kind of lackadaisical with our defensive efforts and missed some assignments. That is an area we need to improve upon before next weekend.”
Durham, a true freshman from Miles City, led the Bobcats from beyond the three-point arc connecting on four treys. Jackie Elliott, another MSU newcomer, finished with nine points and nine rebounds to go along with three assists and three steals.
Montana State point-guard Ausha Cole posted a career-high 11 assists.
The College of Idaho was led by Felicity Jones with 17 points and five assists.
MSU will play at the University of Colorado/Omni Hotel Classic next weekend in Boulder. The Bobcats will face Wisconsin in the opening round.
