Moscow, Idaho native brings heavy tournament experience to MSU
Montana State Women's Golf announced the signing of Kati Greear to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday. Greear, from Moscow, Idaho, will come to Bozeman with a very impressive resume as both a student and an athlete.
Expected to graduate in the spring of 2012, she will leave with four letters in golf. She also participates in basketball.
Most recently, in August, she finished fourth at the Idaho Golf Association Juniors (IGAJ) State Tournament carding 158 (76-82) over two rounds at Lewiston Country Club. She was the medalist at the IGAJ Sub District tournament with a 77 at Bryden Canyon. Her best round of the summer came at Meadow Wood Golf Course when she finished the day with 72.
Also in 2011, she finished fifth at the Idaho Juniors State Championship, and also competed at the Callaway Junior World Championship at Torrey Pines. At the Idaho State High School 4A Championship, she placed third.
Greear was also a Junior World Qualifier participant in Tumwater Valley Golf Course (Wash.) and a USGA Girls Qualifier participant in Spokane, Wash.
“She's brings lots of tournament experience coming into her collegiate career,” said head coach Brittany Basye. “Kati is a great student and I, no doubt, believe that she will contribute immediately to the program.”
Greear also enjoys hunting, camping and riding four-wheelers and currently boasts a 3.62 GPA in the classroom.
