Durham led six Bobcats in double-figures connecting on five-of-nine from the field, including four three-pointers. Also in double digits were Latisha Adams 13, Rachel Semansky 12, Ashley Albert 11, and Katie Bussey and Chelsea Banis with 10 points, apiece.
“I was really pleased with our scoring balance,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “Our balance has always been a strength, and I was happy with our newcomers also contributing.”
Other newcomers in the scoring column were Kayla DeWit and Jackie Elliott with seven and five points, respectively.
The Bobcats pulled down 35 rebounds led by Semansky with a team-high seven boards. Elliott, a freshman from Billings, added six rebounds.
“Rebounding is one area we need to improve upon,” Binford said. “We gave up too many offensive rebounds.”
Starting point-guard Ausha Cole paced MSU in the backcourt with four steals and three assists.
For the game, the Bobcats shot 53 percent from the field, including a 44 percent effort from three-point range.
“We've improved a lot from our first scrimmage,” Binford said.
Montana State will open its season with an exhibition game against the University of Mary on Saturday night at 7 p.m., in Worthington Arena.
