Kelly O'Brien is Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week

Montana State's Kelly O'Brien has been named the Black Clover Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week after tying for 12th place at the Monterey Invitational last weekend.
O'Brien, a freshman from Maple Grove, Minnesota, came through with her best 54-hole score as a collegiate. O'Brien opened the tournament with an 82 and followed with rounds of 79 and 78.
The tournament was held March 18-20 at the Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey, Calif. It was hosted by Drake University.
O'Brien helped Montana State to a fifth-place finish in the nine-team tournament.
Montana State shot rounds of 326, 327 and 315 for a 968. Lamar won the tournament with a 930. North Dakota State's Amy Anderson claimed medalist honors with a 217.
This is O'Brien's first Black Clover Golfer of the Week honor and the first for Montana State since Kelly Gillum won the award in April 2009 for her performance at the Wyoming Cowgirl Invite.
