
Bobcat spikers fall in three to Seattle U

The Montana State volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Seattle U on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Montana State volleyball squad dropped its final non-conference match of the season to Seattle University 25-14, 25-22, 25-21, Sunday afternoon in the Connolly Center.
Seattle (10-12) cruised to the opening set win and then held off a late Montana State (10-11) rally in the second stanza to enter intermission with a 2-0 advantage. The Redhawks jumped out early in set three and staved off the Bobcat for the victory.
Junior Alex Penewell paced Montana State with nine kills, while hitting .389 from the field. Sophomore Taylar Barney continued her outstanding weekend with seven kills and a .462 attack mark.
Setter Jennifer Lundquist dished out 18 assists and added two service aces, while freshman Nicole Baker, who leads the Big Sky Conference in serving, recorded a team-high three winners.
Defensively, Jodeen Rademacher guided MSU with a team-high seven digs.
For the match, SU outhit the Bobcats .327 to .225.
The Redhawks were paced by Cristin Richards with 15 kills and five digs.
MSU will host Montana on Friday night in Shroyer Gym.
