NEXT UP: The Montana State volleyball team begins the second half of the Big Sky Conference season when it hosts intra-state rival Montana on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the annual 'Shake Shroyer' contest. The Bobcats are one of the pleasant surprises of the league this season. After being picked to finish at the bottom of the Big Sky by all eight conference coaches, MSU sits just one game out of fourth and the final spot for the league's postseason tournament. Montana State went 3-5 in the first half and will now enjoy playing five of its last eight Big Sky matches in Shroyer Gym. The Bobcats are currently on a four-match winning streak on the home court. Montana is currently 9-10 overall and 5-3 in Big Sky Conference play, which is good for third place. Last week, the Griz defeated Sacramento State 3-0 in Missoula. UM has won three of its last four league matches.
