Freshman Hultstrand Leads Bobcats at Bulldog/Eagle Invite

Montana State freshman Melissa Hultstrand shot a third round 73 to finish in a tie for fifth overall at the Bulldog/Eagle Invite hosted by Gonzaga and Eastern Washington.
Hultstrand, who hails from Gilbert, Arizona, led the Bobcats to a ninth place finish. Northern Arizona won the team competition and Gonzaga's Victoria Fallgren shot a third round 67 to win medalist honors. Carissa Simmons of Montana placed second.
“I thought it was a great beginning to the season,” head coach Leslie Spalding said. “There are great things in store for Melissa and for our program. There is so much potential with this team.”
Freshman led the way with Molly Dorans finishing second for the Bobcats and tied for 43rd with a 241, and Kelly O'Brien followed tied for 47th with a 243.
