Bobcats Top Portland State for Big Sky Men's Tennis Win

MSU takes doubles point and five of six singles matches
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State's 6-1 win over Portland State will show up as a Big Sky Conference men's tennis win in the standings and box scores, but it was more to Bobcat coach Mateus Ceolin.
"It was a great win for the guys," he said after the Cats won their first league match of the season. "This was a well-fought and hard-earned win. Portland State put up a good fight against us. Our guys worked through a lot of adversity and came out successful on the other side. I'm happy for all of them getting the job done. This shows that we can do it against any team in our conference."
The Bobcats swept to the doubles point then took five of the six singles matches, four of them in straight-set fashion. Dmitry Bezborodov earned wins at the top ladder spot on doubles (with Andre Stewart) and singles. Yassin Elaroussy (No. 3 singles, No. 2 doubles) and Camille Chantron, No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles with Elaroussy) also captured two victories. Eddie Biss and Harrison Janes also earned singles wins.
"Now it's all eyes on Idaho State," Ceolin said of his team's next match. "Certainly it's a match that will take a lot of effort, but I am certain that our guys will show up in practice this week and get themselves ready. This has been a resilient group and I can't wait for what the future holds."
MSU hosts the Bengals next Sunday, April 6.
