Morales Earns Fourth Weekly Honor

For the fourth time this season Montana State senior standout Esmeralda Morales has been tabbed Big Sky Conference Player of the Week.
For the fourth time this season Montana State senior standout Esmeralda Morales has been tabbed Big Sky Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Morales, a product of Spanaway, Wash., led the Bobcats to a school record 18 consecutive wins after cruising past Montana, 98-66, last Saturday in front of 4,127 fans in Worthington Arena. Morales poured in a game-high 28 points, connecting on eight-of-15 from the field, four-of-nine from beyond the arc, and eight-of-eight at the free throw line.
In addition, Morales pulled down five rebounds, dished out five assists and added three steals. With her eight straight free throws, she expanded her school record to 35 consecutive makes from the charity stripe. Morales accomplished her loaded stat sheet playing just over 27 minutes against the Lady Griz.
On the season, she is averaging 15.1 points, 3.7 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game. She leads MSU connecting on 61 three-pointers. Morales is also currently ranked 22nd in the nation shooting 88.6% from the line.
