Montana State faces the University of Colorado for the first time in 30 years on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. in the CU Events Center in Boulder.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS: Montana State is coming off its first loss of the season- a 74-60 decision to Troy on Monday night. Despite the 14-point final margin, the Bobcats were in the ball game trailing 57-56 on a Brianne Bailey three-pointer with 5:38 remaining. Bailey's triple helped the Cats overcome an 18-point third quarter deficit. Taylee Chirrick paced MSU with 21 points and nine rebounds.
ABOUT THE BUFFS: Colorado is 5-2 on the season, after suffering a 59-46 setback to Texas A&M on Tuesday night as part of the Hawaii North Shore Showcase in Laie, Oahu. The Buffs defeated UT Arlington 71-60, and VCU, 69-58, in its other two contests at the Showcase. On the season, freshman Logyn Greer, a 6-4 forward from Lansdowne, Pa., leads the team averaging 12.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, while Zyanna Walker, a 5-11 junior guard from Wichita, Kan., chips in 10.3 points and 4.3 boards per outing. Walker paced the Buffs against Texas A&M with 14 points and 6 rebounds. JR Payne is in her 10th season at Colorado. Payne is no stranger to the Big Sky Conference having served as head coach at former, and soon to be again, league member Southern Utah for five seasons. She led the Thunderbirds to a share of the regular season Big Sky title in 2013-14- her last in Cedar City.
DULY NOTED: MSU is ranked No. 2 in the country in steals per game (18.6) & turnovers forced (30.0).

•Last year, Montana State ranked 1st in the nation averaging 14.4 steals per game. The Cats have picked up right where it left off this season and are currently first in the Big Sky Conference and second in the nation averaging 18.6 steals per contest. Montana State opened the season with 20 steals against Carroll College and totaled 17 at Portland and 19 against Minot State, 16 against UNLV and 21 at Troy.
•Two Bobcats rank among the nation's top 25 in steals just four weeks into 2025-26 season. Sophomore Taylee Chirrick, who is the reigning Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Year, is currently averaging 4.60 steals per game, which is tops in the Big Sky and 5th in the country. Freshman Jamison Philip is averaging 3.60 steals per game, which is third in the Big Sky Conference and 23rd in the nation.
•As a team, the Bobcats are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation in turnovers forced per game with an eye-popping 30.00 per outing. MSU turned Carroll College, Portland and Troy over 37, 33, and 31 times, respectively.
•Montana State is currently ranked No. 5 in the country in turnover margin at +13.20
•Montana State is currently ranked No. 45 in scoring margin at +20.8 points.
•Sophomore Addison Harris leads the Big Sky Conference and ranks 47th in the nation shooting 57.6% from the field through the first five games of the season.
•Sophomore Taylee Chirrick is second in the Big Sky Conference averaging 19.6 points per game, which is 28th best in the nation. Sophomore Addison Harris is third in the Big Sky averaging 18.6 points per contest, which is 40th in the country.
•Addison Harris is shooting 40.0% (10-25) from beyond the three-point arc, which is sixth in the Big Sky Conference and 106th in the country.
•Montana State sisters Courtney and Heidi Smith and Jamison and Dylan Philip are just two sets of siblings playing on the same team at the NCAA Division I level this year. The other duo is at Green Bay: Kamy and Kallie Peppler and Julianna and Kristina Ouimette
•MSU doesn't have to worry about Senior Night this season. The Bobcat active roster consists of four juniors, three sophomores, and six freshmen. Average age of the team is 19.5.
•Montana State head coach Tricia Binford is one of 20 coaches listed on the 2026 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year award watchlist. The award, in its second season, is presented by Her Hoop Stats and named after the legendary former Harvard head coach. Richmond's Aaron Rousell was named the award's second winner in 2025. This year's watchlist includes coaches from 13 conferences.
•MSU's 30 wins last winter were the most in Montana State and Big Sky women's basketball history.
•For the first time in its history, Montana State led the Big Sky in attendance averaging 2,349 fans per game in Worthington Arena, last season. The Bobcats are currently averaging 2,790 fans per game, which includes 4,877 for its annual School Day game on Nov. 10.
•Last season, Montana State was 29-0 when leading after the third quarter.
