Junior college standout went 59-6 over last two seasons with Fullerton College
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Montana State men's basketball added a dynamic, two-way guard to their backcourt on Saturday, as head coach Matt Logie announced the signing of junior college transfer Jeremiah Davis.
"Jeremiah is an athletic, attacking guard who affects winning in a variety of ways with his ability to shoot the ball, touch the paint, finish at the rim, and create for others while being an elite disruptor on the defensive end," Logie said.
Davis, a 6-foot-4 product out of Fullerton College, started 28 games this past season for a Hornet team that went 27-5 and won the Southern California Regional, advancing to the 32CA State Tournament semifinals. As a freshman in 2021-2022, Davis helped lead Fullerton to a state championship title while starting all 33 games.
The native of Fountain Valley, California, averaged 13.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in 2023-24, shooting 49.6% from the floor and 37.0% from beyond the arc while eclipsing 20 points on seven occasions. The guard was named to the 2023-24 NABC CCCAA All-America Team.
One year prior, Davis averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, shooting 53.3% from the field and 41.1% from deep. Davis was named Orange Empire Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Orange Empire Conference.
"We are so excited to add Jeremiah Davis to the Bobcat basketball family," Logie said. "Jeremiah has done nothing but win at Fullerton under coach Perry Webster, going 59-6 over the last two years."
Across two years at Fullerton, Davis scored 781 points, collected 239 rebounds, and dished out 115 assists.
Davis joins guard Bryce Zephir (Salt Lake CC), guard Jabe Mullins (Washington State), forward B.J. Kolly (Western Washington), and guard Trap Johnson (Belton HS) as members of the Bobcats' signing class.
Montana State is coming off its third consecutive Big Sky Tournament championship and third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The "Golden Age" of Bobcat Basketball has included the Big Sky's first three-peat champion since 1970-73 and three of the Bobcats' six trips all-time to the NCAA Tournament, including this past season, when the Cats took down Montana in the Big Sky Championship game to cap a magical postseason run, booking their ticket to the Big Dance as the lowest seed to win the Big Sky Tournament since 1994.
