Scarlet Weidig shoots 73 to lead Cats at Golf Club of Estrella
GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Montana State closed out the first round of their 54-hole Bobcat Desert Classic on Monday, shooting 10-over par through the first stage of competition.
Scarlet Weidig led the Cats with a 1-over par 73, while Eva Heinz, Lauren Greeny, and Hannah Boraas all posted rounds of 3-over par 75.
Competing as an individual, freshman Belle Brezovski shot a collegiate-best 75.
The Bobcats sit 14th through 18 holes, with Grand Canyon leading the field at 7-under par, Seattle U in second at 5-under par and Utah Tech in third at 4-under par.

Montana State will return to Golf Club of Estrella on Tuesday morning for the second round of 18 holes. The first group will tee off from the first hole at 8 a.m. PT/9 a.m. MT. Tee sheets for the second round will be posted when available to the schedule page on msubobcats.com
