Cats Host Cal Poly for School Day Game

Montana State hosts Cal Poly in its annual School Day game, Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. in Worthington Arena.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE BOBCATS: Montana State is off to a 2-0 start after dispatching Troy 73-63 last Thursday night in Worthington Arena. MSU's two All-Big Sky Conference players Esmeralda Morales and Marah Dykstra paced the Bobcats with 14 and 11 points, respectively, while sophomore forward Ella Johnson added 14 points, which included a four-of-five performance from beyond the three-point arc. A pair of freshmen also turned heads as Addison Harris finished with eight points and six rebounds, while Taylee Chirrick pulled down a team-high nine boards, while adding four points and two steals.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE MUSTANGS: Cal Poly is 1-1 overall after defeating UC Merced 72-40 in its season opener and dropping a 90-35 decision to No. 3-ranked USC on Saturday in Los Angeles. The Mustangs are led by Mary Carter, a 6-3 sophomore from Rocklin, Calif., who is averaging 12 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Also averaging double digits are Sydney Bourland, a 5-10 senior from San Jose, Calif., and Annika Shah, a 5-3 senior from Palo Alto, Calif., at 10.0 per contest. Cal Poly is under the direction of Shanele Stires who is in her third season. Last year, the Mustangs went 17-14 overall and 13-7 in Big West action- advancing to the WNIT. CP returns six letterwinners and three starters from last year's squad.
