Bobcat Rodeo Teams Split Weekend Rodeos in Havre

MSU men and women each win one of two rodeos at MSU Northern
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State swept team honors in the second rodeo and Bobcat individuals captured top honors in six events at MSU Northern's two rodeos last weekend in Havre.
The Bobcat men (705 points) topped UM Western (620) and MSU's women out-scored MSU Northern 455 to 320 in the second rodeo on Saturday and Sunday. In Rodeo No. 1 on Thursday and Friday UM Western took top honors in the men's competition while the MSU Northern women won that event.
In the first rodeo on Thursday and Friday, Trav Johnson captured top honors on the average in tie-down roping and Jade Whitman won the steer wrestling, with Wes Shaw and Trav Johnson finishing third and fourth. In the women's competition, Alexis McDonald won the barrel racing with Claire Kalafatic taking second and Shanetll Brewer, Tayla Moeykens and Macardi Anderson finishing four-five-six.
Cole Detton led the way by winning the steer wrestling in rodeo two, pacing two-three-five finishes from Kaden Conway, Trav Johnson and Bode Spring. The Bobcat women dominated the second rodeo. Jessica Stevens won the goat tying and Alexis McDonald and Moeykens finished one-two in the barrel racing. Detton captured all-around honors in the second rodeo.
Montana State finishes the fall season at UM Western Friday and Saturday.
