GAME DAY NOTEBOOK #4: Bobcats, Wildcats Get Together in Crucial Matchup... Agaoin

For the fourth time in just over 700 days, two top 10 teams play when MSU and Weber State square off
OGDEN, Utah - When third-ranked Montana State and No. 8 Weber State kick off tonight it will mark the fourth showdown between the schools in 710 days. Both teams entered each of those games nationally-ranked, and in the two last year both teams were in the top 10.
The Bobcats and WSU have split the 10 meetings between these old Big Sky rivals with both teams ranked, with MSU winning three of the meetings in Ogden and Weber State capturing three of the five in Bozeman.
Montana State has enjoyed its share of success in Stewart Stadium through the years. MSU's 16-13 record in Ogden stands as the Bobcats' most wins in any opposing venue.

Junior cornerback Simeon Woodard will miss his second straight game for the Bobcats today. His hand injury held him out last week, also. Miles Jackson and Jon Johnson start at cornerback today for the Bobcats.

If Bobcat fans are getting an old-time feeling during tonight's game, it's justifiable. Weber State is wearing its old school 'go W' helmet, the W with an arrow coming out the top.The Wildcats used that mark in the 80s and 90s. It's a classic logo befitting a classic rivalry.

Montana State has outscored its opponents 42-3 in the first quarter this season. Weber State has outscored its opponents 21-17 in the opening period.

Montana State leads the nation with 317.7 rushing yards per game in 2023. Taking away the 231 rushing yards by No. 12 FBS Utah, Weber State has allowed just 73.5 rushing yards a game.
