
Bobcats Add Experienced Forward Brandon Walker

Walker brings strength, athleticism to MSU frontcourt
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State added talent and experience to its frontcourt on Wednesday when Bobcat head coach Matt Logie announced that 6-7 forward Brandon Walker transferred from UT Arlington.
Originally from Oak Cliff, Texas, Walker averaged 6.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 32 games for the Mavericks last season, earning WAC Freshman of the Week honors once. He scored a season-high 17 points with eight rebounds against Hardin-Simmons His 139 rebounds were second-most among WAC freshmen in 2022-23. He started 12 games a season ago.
Logie said Walker has the ability to contribute in a number of ways for the Cats. "We are very excited about Brandon joining the Bobcat basketball family! As a freshman frontcourt player Brandon scored nine points or more on 12 different occasions and possesses a combination of skill and size that will fit nicely into our basketball vision. With three years left to play, and his best basketball ahead of him, we look forward to his immediate impact on the court and within our basketball family."
Walker earned Class 4A All-State honors twice at Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy. His team won a state title as a senior, and as a junior he averaged 14 points and seven rebounds a game. He was ranked among Texas' top 35 prep players during his senior season.
