Montana State All-America Skier to Compete in World Cup

Lamontagne, a sophomore, will race two slaloms in Levi, Finland, Nov. 11-12, and two giant slalom events on her home course of Mont. Tremblant just outside of Montreal, Quebec, Dec. 2-3.
Montana State All-American skier Justine Lamontagne, a product of Mont Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada will participate in her first World Cup races over the course of the next month as part of Alpine Canada.
Lamontagne, a sophomore, will race two slaloms in Levi, Finland, Nov. 11-12, and two giant slalom events on her home course of Mont. Tremblant just outside of Montreal, Quebec, Dec. 2-3.
"Justine is one of the hardest working and most dedicated athletes I have had the pleasure of working with throughout my career," said MSU Alpine head coach Kris Shampeny. "Not only is she a great student, but she is a fierce competitor.
"These first World Cup races will be a great experience and she will get to see what the game is all about," he added. "We are beyond excited for her and wish her all the best and can not wait for what she will do with future World Cup opportunities."
Last winter, Lamontagne garnered First Team All-America status after placing third in giant slalom at the NCAA Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y. She also earned Second Team All-America honors after placing sixth in slalom.
Montana State opens its Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) season on Jan. 2 at the RMISA Nordic Qualifiers in Midway, Utah.
