Bobcats Stand in Fifth after Day One at Denver Invitational

Tea Kiesel paces Bobcats
(Jan. 12, 2026) – Montana State alpine skiers stand in fifth place after Tuesday's slalom event at the Denver Invitational in Colorado.
The Bobcats scored 110 points (55.5 by the women skiers, 54.5 by the men) in the event's opening race at Loveland Ski Area in Georgetown, Colo. Montana State's Tea Kiesel finished 10th (1:30.45 in two runs) and Lily Sewell tied for 11th (1:31.17) to pace the Bobcats. Sveig Groenningsaeter (26th, 1:33.26) and Zoe Gray (1:36.20, 28th) also finished for the Bobcats.
In the men's slalom, Bosse Mikelsson finished ninth for the men's team's only top 10 finish. His two-run combined total was 1:31.79. Loic Spiegelberg finished 15th (1:32.42), Torius Hepsoee was 18th (1:32.54), and Caleb Unger finished 24th (1:36.33) for MSU.
The competition continues on Wednesday.
