Goodyear, Ariz. - The Montana State golf team finished the first and second rounds of the Bobcat Desert Classic on Monday as the Bobcats sit 10th out of 11 in the standings. The team played 36 holes at the Golf Club of Estrella in its annual tournament it hosts at the course in Arizona.
Freshman Cora Rosanova led the Bobcats in the first round and second rounds. She shot 77 in round one and 78 in round two and finished at 11-over-par 155. Hannah Rosanova (160) also had a strong start with 77 strokes in the first round, followed by an 83 in the second. Jordan Briggs (159) is second among Bobcats through 36 holes firing an 80 and 79. Kameryn Basye (165) carded an 81 and 84 and Lucia Prieto Romano (165) tallied an 85 and 80. Sofia Rodriguez Todd (165) shot an 81 first round and 84 second playing individually.
"Both Cora and Jordan finished well today in the second round," Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said. "Hannah had a good start for us. We need to get after it in the morning. With the wind picking up later in the afternoon, it got much more difficult. I am proud of how Jordan and Cora played though."
Montana State continues hosting the Bobcat Desert Classic on Tuesday. The Bobcats will tee off at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
