BOBCAT OF THE WEEK: Bozeman native Jordan Radick is the Bobcat of the Week for her performance against Montana, last Friday night in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. The 6-2 sophomore middle blocker matched a career-high 15 kills, while hitting .560 (15-1-25) from the field. In addition, Radick added five blocks and three digs.
BOBCAT BITES: Montana State set a school, a state of Montana, and Big Sky Conference volleyball attendance record when 6,457 fans jammed into Worthington Arena on Friday night...It was the 24th highest attendance at the NCAA Division I level this season. And, outside of Nebraska and Wisconsin, it was the sixth highest so far this fall, behind Creighton (15,797), Colorado State (8,396), UCLA (7,216), Grand Canyon (7,146) and Hawaii (6,475)...Jordan Radick led MSU offensively with a career-high 15 kills, while Kira Thomsen and Madilyn Siebler added 11 and ten, respectively...defensively, MSU was led by Thomsen and Lauren Lindseth with 16 and 14 digs, respectively. Radick led the Cats at the net with five blocks...sophomore setter Audrey Hofer dished out 40 assists and added four digs in the four sets.

Portland State is 8-7 overall and 3-1 in Big Sky Conference play after dropping a 3-0 decision at Northern Colorado, before rebounding with a 3-2 victory over Northern Arizona in Flagstaff on Saturday. On the season, the Vikings are led by Sophia Meyers and Makayla Lewis, who average 3.25 and 2.89 kills, respectively. Defensively, PSU is paced by Ellie Snook, who averages 4.47 digs per contest. As the net, Ashleigh Barto is Portland State's top blocker at .81 bps. Sacramento State is 7-9 overall and 3-1 in Big Sky play after defeating NAU 3-2 and falling at UNC 3-1. Sac State is led by Caitlin Volkmann at 2.78 kps.

The Bobcats starting rotation includes four players from the Treasure State. In all, MSU has five athletes from its home turf on the roster. Starters include setter Audrey Hofer (Helena/Capital), middle blocker Jordan Radick (Bozeman), outside hitter Jordan Klein (Ennis) and libero Lauren Lindseth (Great Falls/CMR). The fifth player is defensive specialist Shayla Webber (Joliet).
HARD BLOCK CAFE:
After the opening three matches of Big Sky Conference action, the Bobcats are second in the league averaging 2.73 per set. Individually, Jordan Radick leads the Big Sky averaging 1.45 blocks per set, while Jourdain Klein ranks fifth at 1.18 blocks per outing. On the season, Montana State is ranked third in the league averaging 2.32, which is 81st in the nation. Emma Pence and Radick rank ninth and tenth in the Big Sky, respectively, and 238th and 263rd in the nation.
CLIMBING THE LADDER:
As the MSU program continues to improve, its numbers within the Big Sky statistical categories have shown remarkable improvement, as well. In the 12 team statistical categories after the opening week of Big Sky action, the Cats rank among the top three in the league in six categories, including #1 in digs (16.91), opponent service aces (.91), and opponent kills (11.64), #2 in blocks (2.73), and #3 in opponent assists (11.00) and opponent hitting percentage (.148). Individually, Jordan Radick is first in blocks (1.45) and third in hitting percentage (.418); Audrey Hofer is fourth in assists (10.64); Lauren Lindseth is fourth in digs (5.18); Jordan Klein is fifth in blocks (1.18); and Emma Pence, seventh in aces (.45).

Junior outside hitter Kira Thomsen returned to the Bobcat rotation after missing 14 matches due to injury. The Parker, Colorado product recorded 11 kills and a team-high 16 digs against Montana on Friday night. Last season, the Second Team All-Big Sky Conference pick recorded a career-high 26 kills against Northern Arizona at the league tournament. Earlier in the season, Thomsen notched a career-best 26 digs at Portland State. Last fall, she recorded 20 matches in double-figure kills, 13 in double-digit digs and had 12 double-doubles (k/d). Thomsen is also closing in on becoming the 17th member of MSU's prestigious 1000-kill club.

Junior Emma Pence continues her assault on the Bobcat blocks records. The season, the product of Carson City, Nevada, has totaled 49 blocks, averaging 0.98 per set. Last fall, Pence was one of the top blockers in the nation averaging 1.34 blocks per set, which led the Big Sky and ranked 14th in the nation. Pence's 151 total blocks was tops in the league and seventh in the country. This season, she had recorded six total blocks on three occasions, the last coming against Eastern Washington on Sept. 22.

THE MENACE FROM ENNIS:
Jourdain Klein, a 6-1 outside hitter from Ennis, Mont., is averaging 2.45 kills and 1.18 blocks per set with a .275 attack mark in Big Sky Conference action. Two weeks ago, Klein averaged 3.29 kills and 1.29 blocks against Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado. Against the Eagles, Klein recorded 10 kills, a .308 attack mark and four blocks. Klein followed that performance with 13 kills, a .500 (13-2-22) attack mark and five blocks as the Bobcat defeated UNC in Greeley. Klein had four kills and four blocks against Montana on Friday night. On the season, she has recorded seven matches with double-figure kills, and seven matches with four or more blocks.
JORDAN IN THE MIDDLE:
Sophomore Jordan Radick tallied a career-high 15 kills against Montana on Friday night, while hitting a team-best .560 (15-1-25) from the field. In addition, she added five blocks and three digs against the Grizzlies. The Bozeman High product opened league play two weeks ago, posting 13 kills (1.86 kps) and eleven blocks (1.57), while hitting .300 against Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado. Radick had her best outing against Northern Colorado posting 10 kills, a .333 attack mark and a season-high nine blocks. She has been in double-figure kills on four occasions this fall and had notched five matches with four or more blocks. Radick was the 2021 Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-Big Sky pick.
THE DISH:
Sophomore setter Audrey Hofer handed out 40 assists, while adding four digs, a block, and a kill against Montana on Friday night. The Helena Capital product had a great start to the Big Sky season two weeks ago, dishing out 11.00 assists per set. On the season, Hofer is averaging 9.00 apg, which ranks sixth in the Big Sky and 124th in the country. She has also registered two double-doubles this fall and recorded a career-high six kills against Bryant University of Sept. 3.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE:
Sophomore Courtney Weatherby has done an outstanding job on the outside for the Bobcats this fall. The native of Kuna, Idaho has played in 15 matches and 61 sets, averaging 2.21 kills and 2.43 digs per set. Weatherby recorded a career-high 20 kills against St. Thomas (MN) at the Bobcat Classic en route to being named to the all-tournament team. In all, she has been in double-digit kills on eight occasions, and double-figure digs nine times. She leads the Bobcats with seven double-doubles. Weatherby tallied a season-high 22 saves as the Bobcats defeated Fordham on Sept. 9. Weatherby has also done a fantastic job from the service line, leading the Bobcats with 18 aces. She posted three aces against Grand Canyon and Fordham. Against Northern Colorado, Weatherby registered a career-high three blocks, with one solo, and two block assists against the Bears. On Friday night, the native of Kuna, Idaho recorded 14 digs against Montana.
LINDSETH FAMILY LEGACY:
Montana State freshman libero Lauren Lindseth will be a part of Bobcat history as part of the first mother/daughter duo to play volleyball at MSU. Lindseth' s mother - Kelly Modrow - played for the Blue and Gold from 1992-1996. The native of Minnetonka, Minnesota (Hopkins HS) played in 110 matches and 359 sets. In all, her career totals include: 889 kills, 733 digs, 128 blocks and 87 service aces wearing the No. 2 jersey. Like her mother, Lauren also dons the No. 2 uniform. Lindseth has played in all 15 matches and 62 this season as MSU's starting libero. On the season, she's totaled 223 digs, averaging 3.60 per contest. In Big Sky play, she is averaging 5.18 digs per set. Lindseth had been in double-digit saves on nine occasions, including a season and career-high 32 digs as the Bobcat upset Boise State 3-2 in Shroyer Gym on Sept. 15. Additionally, Lindseth is second on the squad with 17 service aces, including a season-high two aces on five occasions. She's also dished out 35 assists.
