Montana State Cross Country Claims USTFCCCA Academic Awards

Montana State’s men’s and women’s cross country teams were both recognized as All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2021 season on Thursday
NEW ORLEANS – Montana State's men's and women's cross country teams were both recognized as All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2021 season on Thursday.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Both of MSU's squads easily met the criteria with the Bobcat women garnering a 3.64 GPA and the men accumulating a 3.37 GPA.
Two individuals also picked up All-Academic Athlete accolades from the USTFCCA. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top 25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships.
Both Duncan Hamilton and Camila Noe were picked as All-Academic Athletes. Hamilton, a mechanical engineering major at Montana State, claimed his third academic honors from the USTFCCCA. Noe, a nursing major at MSU, has also previously been a recipient of USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
The Montana State track and field team returns to action from Feb. 4-5 as the MSU program travels to Spokane to participate in two meets hosted by Washington State.
