BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Montana State golf team begins its spring schedule on Monday when the Bobcats tee off at the GCU Spring Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz. MSU is slated to start its first of four tournaments over a two-month span at 8 a.m. at the Grand Canyon University Golf Course.
"We're just excited to get the opportunity and compete at GCU," Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said. "We haven't played in a competitive event as a team since last March, so it'll be interesting. We're going to take advantage of being able to hit off some green grass and play outdoors. We'll be missing Kelly Hooper out of our lineup, but it just means we can have a couple of other players step up."
Making up MSU's lineup at the two-day event hosted by GCU will be Sofia Rodriguez Todd, Kameryn Basye, Hailey Oster, Annika Danenhauer and Hannah Rosanova.
The Bobcats will be one of 15 teams – which includes five schools from the Big Sky Conference – participating in the GCU Invite. The golfers will play 36 holes on Monday followed by another 18 holes on Tuesday with the final round also starting at 8 a.m. The GCU Golf Course will play at roughly 6,100 yards over the course of two days.
Live results for all three rounds during the tournament can be found on Golfstat.com.
