Bobcat head coach Tricia Binford enters her 17th season at the helm of the MSU program, after guiding Montana State to a 17-7 overall mark and a 13-3 Big Sky Conference ledger, last season. For her efforts, Binford was named co-Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year. BOBCAT BITES:

EXHIBITION REWIND:
South Dakota Mines a 94-43 setback in exhibition action on Saturday night in Worthington Arena. Montana State held a one-point advantage over the Hardrockers after the opening 10-minutes, but outscored South Dakota Mines 26-4 in the second period to hold a 43-20 cushion at intermission. MSU scored the final 18-points of the first half as six different Bobcats put points on the board. "I thought our balance was the key," said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. "We really got our posts involved after the first media timeout. We started to get touches everywhere and worked inside-out. "And on the defensive end, we just really wanted to lock in after Piper (Bauer) went off and hit some early threes," Binford added. "We needed to locate her, and after that, we didn't give up those looks in the second half." Bauer kept South Dakota Mines in the game in the first period connecting on five-of-nine from the field, including four 3-pointers and 14 points. She finished the game with 17 points. Montana State closed out the third frame on an 18-2 run and took its largest lead of the contest on a Taylor Janssen triple with under a minute remaining in the game. Also scoring in double-figures for the Bobcats were Leia Beattie and Lindsey Hein with 11 points, apiece. Six Bobcats scored between seven and nine points as MSU shot 57.8% from the field, 40% from beyond the arc and 75% from the line. MSU outrebounded the Hardrockers 44-29. The Cats were led under the glass by Katelynn Limardo and Hein with eight and six rebounds, respectively. MSU's starting backcourt duo of White and Ashley Van Sickle each dished out four assists, while Van Sickle added two steals. The Bobcats held a 46-16 advantage in points in the paint and turned 18 South Dakota Mines turnovers in 27 points.
PRESEASON ACCOLADES:
Reigning Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Montana State standout Darian White is one of six players named to the preseason all-conference team, released by the league office on Thursday. White, a junior from Boise, Idaho garnered All-Big Sky First-Team honors last season after leading the Bobcats in scoring (14.6 ppg), rebounding (5.1 rpg), assists (3.8 apg) and steals (2.7 spg). In addition, she was first on the team in field-goals made (118) and free throws made (101). For the season, White shot 41.8% from the field and 75.9% from the line. "Being named to the preseason team is great recognition for the impact Darian has had on the league over the last two seasons," said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. "But she would be the first to tell you, it's not about the individual accolades and that the big picture is the team's success. "In my opinion, there's not many point-guards in the country that impact their team in as many areas as Darian does for our program," Binford added. Last season, White hit double-figure scoring in 22-of-24 games, including a career-high 24 points at Portland. She also pulled down a season-high 11 rebounds against the Pilots. White's 2.7 steals per game ranked among the nation's best. She posted a career-high seven steals in the Bobcats' victory at Eastern Washington on Feb. 11.
