Big Sky Track & Field Indoor Polls Slot Bobcat Men Second, MSU Women Fifth

The Montana State men’s and women’s programs were picked to finish second and fifth, respectively, by the league’s head coaches.
FARMINGTON, Utah – The Big Sky Conference released its 2021 Indoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches' Polls on Friday, Jan. 8. The Montana State men's and women's programs were picked to finish second and fifth, respectively, by the league's head coaches.
The Northern Arizona men earned all 11 first-place votes and garnered 121 points in the poll. The Bobcat men's program garnered 102 points to easily sit second overall. Following MSU was Idaho (84), Weber State (82) and Idaho State (76).
MSU's women's squad was picked to take fifth overall with 71 points. The NAU women's team received eight first-place votes and tallied 117 points in the poll to sit atop the standings. Two first-place votes went to Sacramento State which was picked second and received 100 points. Weber State picked up the final first-place vote in the women's coaches' poll and was slotted third with 91 points, while Idaho State received 87 points to sit ahead of MSU.
The Bobcat men's team finished third in the team standings with 77 points at last season's Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships in Pocatello. MSU's women's team tied for seventh with Southern Utah at 53 points.
