The Montana State golf team opened play at its first tournament of 2020 on Saturday, Feb. 22, on a rain-soaked Grand Canyon Golf Course
PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Montana State golf team opened play at its first tournament of 2020 on Saturday, Feb. 22, on a rain-soaked Grand Canyon Golf Course. The Bobcats completed their first round at the GCU Invitational as the day was cut short by a round due to weather conditions.
Seniors Delaney Elliott and Kelly Hooper led the Bobcats through the first 18 holes. Both are tied for 31st after each shot a 4-over-par 76. Hooper carded 14 pars while Elliott recorded a birdie and 13 pars.
Coral Schulz is tied for 67th after firing a 9-over 81. Sofia Rodriguez Todd is tied for 72nd with an 82 and Lucia Prieto Romano is tied for 79th with an 83.
The Bobcats are 12th in the team standings after shooting a 315 as a squad. Grand Canyon leads the team standings with a 287 through 18 holes.
The GCU Invitational resumes at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, with final round action in Phoenix.
