Bobcats Picked Seventh in Big Sky Preseason Media, Coaches’ Polls

The Montana State men's basketball team has been picked to finish seventh in the Big Sky Conference this season, according to the annual preseason coaches’ and media polls released on Thursday
FARMINGTON, Utah – The Montana State men's basketball team has been picked to finish seventh in the Big Sky Conference this season, according to the annual preseason coaches' and media polls released on Thursday.
Eastern Washington was selected to finish first among the Big Sky Conference coaches with eight first-place votes. Montana (87) was picked by three coaches and was followed by Weber State (86), Southern Utah (71), Northern Colorado (65) and Portland State (59), which were voted ahead of MSU by the league's coaches.
Montana narrowly sits atop the Media Poll with 354 points and 13 first-place votes, just ahead of Weber State's 345 points and 12 votes. Eastern Washington (330), Northern Colorado (275), Southern Utah (247) and Portland State (220) follow.
Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, Idaho State and Idaho rounded out the coaches' and media polls in order.
Montana State plays in 11 nonconference contests before opening up the 20-game Big Sky schedule. The Bobcats begin conference play on Dec. 28 when they host Sacramento State on Dec. 28.
