Jaynes Tabbed Big Sky Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Montana State's Amanda Jaynes made her outdoor season debut and was rewarded on Tuesday, April 10, for her efforts as she was named the Big Sky Conference Track and Field Women's Track Athlete of the Week
OGDEN, Utah – Montana State's Amanda Jaynes made her outdoor season debut and was rewarded on Tuesday, April 10, for her efforts as she was named the Big Sky Conference Track and Field Women's Track Athlete of the Week the league announced.
The MSU senior competed in her opening meet of the year when she participated in the Utah/Weber State Spring Classic from April 7-8.
Jaynes finished first in both of her individual events and had solid results in each. Jaynes took first in the 400 hurdles by more than a second by finishing in a time of 59.28 seconds. Her mark put her in first on the Big Sky performance list and 36th currently in the nation. Jaynes also took first in the 100 hurdles in a time of 14.25, moving her up to third in the Big Sky. She also served as the Bobcats' anchor legs on their 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay teams.
The weekly honor from the Big Sky Conference is the second for Jaynes in 2018, who was previously named the Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Feb. 20 during the indoor season.
Montana State's track and field teams will compete in two different events this weekend. The Bobcats will have a contingent that travels to La Jolla, Calif., for the Triton Invitational from April 13-14. The remaining 'Cats head to Missoula for the Montana Open on Saturday, April 14.
