Boise State Wins Early, Late to Nip MSU Men's Tennis

Bobcats use solid singles effort for rally, but come up short
Boise State couldn't wrap up its men's tennis win over Montana State until the last moments of the match Sunday afternoon, but the key to the Broncos' win came Saturday.
The Broncos won a 7-6 (7-3 tie-breaker) at No. 2 doubles Saturday evenings, then clinched the team win with in Sunday's final singles match. BSU triumphed over the Cats 4-3.
Alexander Flink and Rok Sitar topped Stefan Lalovic and Pedro Platzeck at No. 1 doubles to level that competition, as MSU's Max Petrak and Adrian Torrico battled at No. 2. The MSU duo dropped a hard-fought decision, which MSU coach Jared Burnham felt was crucial.
"The doubles point is always big for us," he said. "We've had good success in doubles this year. Max and Adrian fought hard."
After cruising to wins at No. 6 and No. 1, Boise State watched the Bobcats rally. Kasper Parlklo won an epic 6-5, 7-6 (7-2) match at No. 2 singles, then Joaquin Espinoza (No. 5) and Adrian Torrico (No. 4) pulled the Bobcats even. Boise State's Wyatt DeMulling out-lasted MSU's Rok Sitar 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 to clinch the match.
"We played well and put up a fight," Burnham said. "It's a disappointing loss, but it's the best tennis we've played this season so in that way it's encouraging."
