Bobcats Travel to Texas State for WNIT Consolation Games

“We look forward to this weekend at Texas State,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “It will be a great experience for us early in the season getting two games against really strong teams at one site. It will give our kids a glimpse of what to expect come Big Sky Conference Tournament time.”
BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Montana State women's basketball team will travel to San Marcos, Texas this weekend to complete play in the preseason WNIT. The Bobcats will face Delaware on Friday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. (MT) and will play either Nicholls State or Texas State on Saturday at 3 p.m. or 5:30 p.m., respectively.
Texas State will host the event in Strahan Arena. All four schools fell in the opening-round of the WNIT last weekend. TSU is one of two schools hosting a consolation round pod. Stephen F. Austin, who the Bobcats will visit on Dec. 6, is the other host site. Playing at SFA will be Yale, Niagara and Morgan State.

No. 19-ranked Marquette handed the Bobcats a 100-52 setback on Friday night. Montana State was led by Oliana Squires and Claire Lundberg with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Northern Iowa defeated Delaware 79-67 in Cedar Falls on Friday. The Blue Hens were paced by Jasmine Dickey with 21 points. Last season, Delaware posted 19-13 overall mark and an 11-7 ledger in Colonial Athletic Association action.
Texas State lost its opening-round WNIT game 82-51 at New Mexico, while Nicholls lost 80-59 at Auburn.
