Montana State Women’s Basketball Program Announces Roster Moves

Annika Lai, who played in all 32 games for the Montana State women’s basketball program this past season, has informed Bobcats’ head coach Tricia Binford that she plans to transfer to a school closer to home for personal and academic reasons
Annika Lai, who played in all 32 games for the Montana State women's basketball program this past season, has informed Bobcats' head coach Tricia Binford that she plans to transfer to a school closer to home for personal and academic reasons.
In addition, Binford announced that Ashton Siegner will medically retire from the program after dealing with numerous injuries the past three seasons. Siegner will continue to pursue her degree in civil engineering at MSU. Redshirt freshman Madison Kast has indicated that she will transfer to a school closer to her home in California that meets her academic goals, as well.
Lai, who averaged 6.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game during the 2016-17 season, is from Boulder, Colorado. She was a two-time All-Big Sky Conference Academic selection. Siegner played in just eight games as a Bobcat in the past two years, averaging under a point per game.
"Annika gave us great contributions on the court the past two seasons," Binford said. "This is a decision she felt was best for her academic future, and we wish her nothing but the best."
