Bobcat Men to Face Omaha in Electric City

Bobcat basketball coach Brian Fish announced at Friday’s Triangle Classic Banquet that Montana State will meet Omaha on November 10 at Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls to open the 2017-18 season.
Harry S Truman was President of the United States, Dragnet had just premiered as a black-and-white television series on NBC, Tony Bennett's version of "Cold, Cold Heart" had just been bumped off the top of the nation's pop music chart, and Dick Kazmaier of Princeton had just captured the Heisman Trophy when Brick Breeden led his Montana State Bobcats to Great Falls to meet Eastern Washington on December 27, 1951.
That is MSU's most recent visit to the Electric City for a men's basketball game. Until next November. Bobcat basketball coach Brian Fish announced at Friday's Triangle Classic Banquet that Montana State will meet Omaha on November 10 at Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls to open the 2017-18 season.
"Montana State has such support around the state and Great Falls has been incredible," Fish said on Friday. "This is an opportunity to say thank you to our great fans in north-central Montana and to give people that can't make it to Bozeman the opportunity to see Division I basketball."
Tickets are now on sale for the Bobcats' Great Falls game against the Mavs. Tickets available are $10 general admission for adults, while special $5 tickets are available for children ages 18 and under while supplies. A very limited number of court side seats are also available for $100. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets before game day by visiting msubobcats.com/tickets or calling 406-994-CATS. Tickets purchases on the day of the game can be done at Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls, Mont.
The Bobcats finished 16-16 in 2016-17, compiling an 11-7 Big Sky record. That marked the team's most conference wins since 2002. The team is led by Tyler Hall, who was among the nation's top 10 scorers and three-point shooters in college basketball last season.
MSU hosts an Omaha team that advanced to the championship game of the Summit League, dropping a 79-77 decision to South Dakota State. Omaha finished the season with an 18-14 overall mark.
