Harald Frey, Tyler Hall Make History for Bobcats

Frey lands Frosh of Year, Hall lands on First Team All-Big Sky
Montana State guards Harald Frey and Tyler Hall teamed up to make some history Monday.
Frey earned Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year honors, which Hall reeled in a year ago, to make MSU the only school in league history with the top frosh in back-to-back years. Hall also became the first Bobcat sophomore since Jason Erickson in 2002 named First Team All-Big Sky, and Frey landed on the all-league's third team.
"I'm excited about it because winning creates opportunity for a lot of guys," said Bobcat head coach Brian Fish. "We've won 10 of our last 13 and I think coaches take notice of that. We have other guys that could have been deserving, but everything comes back to the team. You don't get individual awards if you don't win games. I'm very happy for Tyler, and very happy for Harry."
Hall, a unanimous first team choice, is re-setting MSU's single-season scoring record with every point, and joins Rodney Stuckey as the only sophomores in Big Sky history to surpass 700 points in a season. He has been among the nation's top 10 in scoring and three-pointers throughout the season.
Frey has led the loop's freshmen in scoring almost from the season's inception. He is among the all-time freshman leaders in points, assists and three-pointers in Bobcat history.
"It's cool, it's definitely an honor," Frey said. "But we're in the (Big Sky Tournament) in Reno now, and that's all that matters."
He said he's enjoyed playing in the backcourt with Hall. "It's always fun playing with Tyler," Frey said.
