Ferris Earns Third Big Sky Player of the Week Honor

Montana State senior Peyton Ferris earned her third Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honor for her efforts in MSU’s win over Idaho State and Weber State, announced the Big Sky Conference office Saturday night.
Montana State senior Peyton Ferris earned her third Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honor for her efforts in MSU's win over Idaho State and Weber State, announced the Big Sky Conference office Saturday night.
Ferris capped an impressive regular-season with back-to-back double-doubles to guide the Bobcats to their second straight Big Sky title and the No. 1 seed at the league tournament. For the two games, the Twin Bridges, Mont., product averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds per game, while shooting 72 percent (18-25) from the field, including 57 percent from beyond the arc. In addition, she averaged 2.5 assists per game and 27 minutes per contest.
Against Idaho State, Ferris posted 22 points and a career-matching 12 rebounds. She followed that with 22 points and ten boards in the season finale' with Weber State. The double-double against WSU was the eighth Ferris' career. She also finished the season with ten games scoring 20 or more points.
Ferris shared the honor with Northern Colorado's Courtney Smith.
