It’s All Academic: Bobcat Student-Athletes Continue to Set Level of Excellence

Montana State student-athletes continue to dominate in the classroom. With fall semester grades in the books, the Bobcats can once again boast an unprecedented level of excellence in academics.
Montana State student-athletes continue to dominate in the classroom. With fall semester grades in the books, the Bobcats can once again boast an unprecedented level of excellence in academics.
Montana State recorded a total student-athlete grade-point average of 3.14 for fall semester. In addition, sixty-one student-athletes earned all A's or A-'s; and 129 student-athletes were named to either the President's or Dean's List. Thirty-one student-athletes were named to All-Big Sky Conference Academic teams.
"We have an impressive group of student-athletes that are not only committed to athletics success, but academic excellence," said MSU Director of Athletics Leon Costello. "I want to thank them, the coaches and academic staff for dedication in the classroom."
The Montana State women's tennis team posted the highest grade-point average in the department at 3.69. They were followed closely by the women's golf team at 3.65.
Recently named to the All-Big Sky Conference Academic squad for fall semester:
Football – Gabe Peppenger, Jered Padmos, Kevin Kassis, Mitch Herbert, Tyler Bruggman, Ben Folsom, Bryson McCabe, Gunnar Brekke, Chad Newell, Marcus Ferriter, Josh Hill, Monte Folsom, Karl Tucker.
Volleyball – Eli Svisco, Dana Vestman, Alexandra Rader, Katie Rutecki, Allyssa Rizzo, Kiana Black, Sydney Mathison, Caitlin Lonergan.
Men's Cross Country – Cameron Carroll, Adam Wollant.
Women's Cross Country – Kendra Larson, Madison Liechty, Layne Oliver, Kimberly Parsell, Christie Schiel, Louisa Serpe, Alyssa Snyder, Sierra Tucker.
