Bobcat guard reels in third award this season
Tyler Hall scored 50 points and played 87 minutes this weekend, leading Montana State to overtime home wins over Idaho and Eastern Washington. For his efforts, Montana State's sophomore guard landed Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honors.
Hall scored 32 points in MSU's double-overtime win over Idaho on Thursday, hitting eight of his 12 free throw attempts after regulation ended. In Saturday's win, his 19 points included a key layup late in regulation time and a three-pointer early in overtime. That overtime shot was MSU's only field goal after regulation time expired.
Hall is among the nation's top 10 in three-pointers made per game (8th, 3.65) and scoring (5th, 23.3), and leads the Big Sky in both categories. After the weekend, MSU stands in fourth place with a 6-4 Big Sky Conference record. The team's current five-game win streak is its longest in league games in over a decade.
The player of the week award is Hall's third this season. He was also named the College Sports Madness Big Sky Player of the Week on Monday.
Montana State visits Montana on Saturday. Tipoff is 7 pm.
